For our second story in the "This Is Your Why" campaign, we’re thrilled to share this powerful sentiment from one of our interpreters:

"I chose this job because I once struggled to express myself and share my feelings. I understand the frustration of feeling unheard or misunderstood. When I began my journey in interpretation, I found it incredibly fulfilling to assist those who are in situations where they need to be heard, understood, and acknowledged. This is why I am proud to say that I am passionate about interpreting and give my all to support those who truly need it."

For our third story, we’re excited to share another inspiring journey from one of our interpreters:

"I used to work retail as a bilingual associate. I felt like I was helping people, but it didn’t feel like I was making a difference—I didn’t feel like my job really mattered. When I heard I could get trained to be an interpreter through Kelly, I decided to take the test and apply. It felt like I was back in school, and it gave me a purpose. I felt special, like I mattered. Helping people accomplish their daily tasks—things we often take for granted—is so gratifying."

Let this remind us that the work we do truly matters and changes lives. Keep an eye out for more heartfelt stories from your fellow interpreters!

For this story, we’d like to spotlight a relatable and inspiring journey shared by one of our interpreters:

"I used to have awful anxiety during my commutes; traffic is awful in my city. When I found this role, not only did it save me from those stressful hours in traffic, but it also allowed me to channel my energy into something meaningful. Now, I get to help people from the comfort of my home, making a real difference without the added stress. It's been life-changing for both my mental health and my sense of purpose."

This sentiment is a powerful reminder of the flexibility and fulfillment that being an interpreter can bring. Helping others while finding balance in your own life is truly what this profession is all about.

This Is Your Why: Glendalys' Story

For Glendalys, becoming an interpreter nearly two years ago wasn’t just a career change—it was life-changing.

"Having children and personal health challenges that prevent me from being around other people, this job has been a blessing to my family and myself. The anxiety of waking up early and commuting to work is gone. Being able to work from the comfort of my home office has been truly amazing."

What makes her love this job even more is its purpose.

"Interpreting is more than just translating words—it's connecting people. I have the opportunity to bridge communication gaps between individuals from different countries, backgrounds, and beliefs. I help ensure everyone is heard, served, and gets what they need. The fulfillment and joy of helping someone achieve understanding is unmatched."

We are so lucky to have Glendalys on our team. She embodies what it means to make a difference, one call at a time.

Here's to more years of bringing people together, Glendalys!

For our next story, we’re excited to share a heartfelt experience from one of our interpreters:

"I decided to take this job because I was ready for a change. As a stay-at-home mom, I spent years selling items here and there to help support my household. While it worked for a time, I knew I could do more to contribute, especially with the economy being as challenging as it is.

When a friend referred me to this job, it felt like the perfect fit. I could still be present at home for my family while taking on meaningful work that makes a difference. It’s been the best decision I’ve ever made. Now, I’m not just helping my household financially—I’m helping people every day, and that fills me with pride and purpose."

Let this story remind us all of the unique paths that lead us to this incredible profession and the impact we make every day. Thank you to everyone for sharing your "why" and for inspiring us all to keep doing what we love!
