For our third story, we’re excited to share another inspiring journey from one of our interpreters:
"I used to work retail as a bilingual associate. I felt like I was helping people, but it didn’t feel like I was making a difference—I didn’t feel like my job really mattered. When I heard I could get trained to be an interpreter through Kelly, I decided to take the test and apply. It felt like I was back in school, and it gave me a purpose. I felt special, like I mattered. Helping people accomplish their daily tasks—things we often take for granted—is so gratifying."
Let this remind us that the work we do truly matters and changes lives. Keep an eye out for more heartfelt stories from your fellow interpreters!

For our next story, we’re excited to share a heartfelt experience from one of our interpreters:
"I decided to take this job because I was ready for a change. As a stay-at-home mom, I spent years selling items here and there to help support my household. While it worked for a time, I knew I could do more to contribute, especially with the economy being as challenging as it is.
When a friend referred me to this job, it felt like the perfect fit. I could still be present at home for my family while taking on meaningful work that makes a difference. It’s been the best decision I’ve ever made. Now, I’m not just helping my household financially—I’m helping people every day, and that fills me with pride and purpose."

“Our work is more than just interpreting—it’s about bridging communities, empowering individuals, and making a difference.”
For Kathleen Collado, becoming an interpreter has been a life-changing experience—one that has brought both stability and purpose to her life. As a single mother of special needs children, balancing work and family responsibilities has always been a challenge. However, interpreting has given her the opportunity to support her family while remaining present for her children, something she is deeply grateful for every day.
Through her role as an interpreter, Kathleen has discovered a profound sense of fulfillment. Each call she takes offers valuable lessons about humanity, resilience, and the power of communication.
“It’s more than just a job to me,” Kathleen shares. “It’s an opportunity to help others during their most vulnerable moments. This work is a part of who I am. Even on the toughest days, I remind myself of the impact I’m making. Someone needed help, and I was there—just like someone was there for my mom when she didn’t know English and worked tirelessly to build a life for us in this country.”
Her journey as an interpreter has not only allowed her to contribute meaningfully to others but has also helped her grow as an individual and a mother.
After 2 ½ years in this role, Kathleen expresses her heartfelt gratitude to Kelly Services for providing her with an opportunity that has positively shaped her life.

To some people, this job is about equity and language access in life’s most challenging situations, but to me, this is not just a job: it is the most rewarding role I’ve ever taken on. It’s life-changing, it’s fulfilling, it’s Godsend! Thank you. I am proud of myself, and I am proud of where I work. 🌟 This Is Your Why 🌟
We are incredibly proud to share the story of one of our own managers at Kelly! She is a true example of dedication, passion, and growth in the interpreting profession. We are so happy to have her with us, and her journey is an inspiration to all.
“Why I Became an Interpreter” by Barbara Constante.
"That’s a bit of a loaded question. I didn’t exactly find interpreting; it kind of fell into my lap. From my very first professional interpretation, I was hooked. The thrill of helping others, the excitement of the unknown, and the deep gratification of making a difference in someone's life made me fall in love with this profession.
I became an interpreter with Kelly after moving back to my hometown, looking for something quick and remote. Kelly hired me, and off I went. Before long, I transitioned into a trainer and learning coach, where I had the incredible opportunity to share my knowledge and help shape the next generation of interpreters.
I am passionate about sharing the love of my language, my culture, and my people. After a year and a half as a trainer, I was honored to accept the role of Spanish Training Manager. Now, I have the privilege of supporting and guiding learning coaches as they mold bright new minds.
There’s an immense sense of fulfillment in helping others start their journey as interpreters. I am grateful to be that bridge, connecting them not only to their careers but also to their roots.”
Her commitment to the interpreting profession and her passion for mentorship truly make her an inspiration to all of us. Thank you for everything you do, Barbara! ✨
